İstanbul Airport
İstanbul Airport (IST) serves as Turkey's primary international gateway, positioning Istanbul at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa. This metal print captures that reach — built from real ADS-B flight tracking data. Each flight path is colorized by altitude across your chosen palette.
This print visualizes 1 flight recorded between April 6–10, 2026 — the 7th anniversary of IST becoming Turkey's primary international hub. Printed direct-to-metal on an aluminum panel, it is a piece of aviation wall art that marks the moment a new era of Turkish aviation became permanent.

ADS-B Points
Over the five-day window from April 6 to April 10, 2026, ADS-B data captured a single flight at İstanbul Airport (IST/LTFM). That flight was a departure, recorded on April 10 during the 08:00 local hour, with activity logged between 07:37 and 09:24. No arrivals were recorded across any of the five days. The sole aircraft was a Turkish-registered aircraft (TC-LPC, hex 4BB203), departing westbound toward Naples International Airport (LIRN/NAP), covering 671.4 nautical miles over 107.3 minutes. The flight reached a maximum altitude of 34,450 feet, with an average across all recorded ADS-B points of approximately 26,097 feet. The altitude distribution shows heavy concentration in the 33,000 to 35,000-foot range, which together account for 229 of the 427 total ADS-B points captured. Lower altitude bands between 2,000 and 5,000 feet also show modest point counts, consistent with climb-out phase data. Peak groundspeed reached 454.6 knots, with an average of 367.0 knots across the leg. A total of 709 trajectories were filtered out due to incomplete data, and no unanchored or sparse-neighbor filtered flights were excluded. Only one unique aircraft appears in the dataset. Naples was the only route recorded, and the departure direction was west. No approach directions were logged for the period.
Every print includes a QR code linking to the full flight report.

About the Airport
İstanbul Airport opened on October 29, 2018, chosen to coincide with the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic. It replaced Atatürk Airport as Turkey's primary international hub in April 2019, when all commercial flights were transferred in a single overnight operation. The transition was one of the largest airport relocations ever executed.
The airport sits on the European side of Istanbul, near the Black Sea coast in the Arnavutköy district. Its location places it roughly 35 kilometers northwest of the city center. Turkish Airlines uses IST as its primary hub and operates one of the world's most expansive route networks from the airport, connecting over 300 destinations across more than 120 countries. That scale makes IST a critical node linking European, Middle Eastern, African, and Asian aviation traffic.
The terminal building was designed to evoke the silhouette of tulips and seagulls, references to both Turkish cultural heritage and Istanbul's coastal identity. At opening, it was the largest single terminal building in the world by floor space. The airport is planned to eventually handle up to 200 million passengers annually across 6 runways, though it opened with 3 and has been expanding incrementally. Its air traffic control tower is among the tallest in Europe. IST sits at an elevation of 325 feet above mean sea level, and its runways are oriented to manage traffic arriving from both the Black Sea and European corridors.
