Singapore Changi Airport

Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) is one of the world's most connected aviation hubs, linking Southeast Asia to six continents with relentless frequency. This metal print captures that reach — drawn from real ADS-B flight tracking data. Each flight path is colorized by altitude across your chosen palette.

This print visualizes the single flight recorded on January 9–10, 2026 — the 18th anniversary of Terminal 3's opening at Changi. Printed direct-to-metal on an aluminum panel, it is a piece of aviation wall art that fixes one quiet moment in the long story of a legendary airport.

ADS-B Points

This visualization covers two days of ADS-B traffic at Singapore Changi Airport (WSSS) from January 9 to January 10, 2026, coinciding with the 18th anniversary of Terminal 3's opening. Over that window, a single flight was captured: one arrival, zero departures, and zero ground operations. The sole aircraft, registered 9V-SMK (ICAO hex 76CDAB, Singapore-registered), arrived during the 05:00 local hour on January 9, with activity recorded between 05:00 and 05:36. January 10 recorded no traffic at all. The one flight originated from Kuantan Airport (WMKD/KUA) in Malaysia, approaching from the NNW. The leg covered 213.1 nautical miles in 36.2 minutes, peaking at 38,875 feet with an average groundspeed of 287 knots and a maximum of 482.5 knots. A total of 378 ADS-B position points were logged across the trajectory. The altitude distribution shows the heaviest concentration of data points below 1,000 feet (76 points) and in the 38,000 to 39,000 foot range (31 points), reflecting the descent profile from cruise through final approach. Beyond this single captured flight, 1,333 trajectories were filtered out due to incomplete data, leaving the dataset representing one unique aircraft from one country of registration. The average across the two-day period works out to 0.5 flights per day and effectively zero flights per hour.

About the Airport

Singapore Changi Airport opened on July 1, 1981, replacing the former Paya Lebar Airport as Singapore's primary international gateway. From its first day of operations, the airport was conceived as more than a transit point — it was a statement of national ambition for a city-state with no geographic hinterland and an economy entirely dependent on connectivity.

Situated on the eastern tip of Singapore, the airport occupies reclaimed land and sits just minutes from the central business district. That proximity to the city is unusual for a major international hub and has made it a genuine gateway rather than a remote logistics node. Changi serves over 100 airlines connecting to more than 100 countries, with Singapore Airlines and Scoot operating from it as their home base. The airport has grown steadily across multiple terminals — Terminal 1 opened with the airport in 1981, Terminal 2 followed in 1990, Terminal 3 in 2008, and Terminal 4 in 2017. The landmark Jewel Changi Airport, a mixed-use complex built into the terminal precinct, opened in 2019 and features an indoor waterfall — the Rain Vortex — that has become one of Singapore's most visited attractions.

Changi has long been regarded as a benchmark for airport operations. It handles tens of millions of passengers annually and consistently ranks among the highest-rated airports globally for efficiency and passenger experience. Its role in regional aviation is difficult to overstate — for much of Southeast Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific, SIN functions as the primary long-haul connection point to Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.
