GRU logged 5,316 flights across seven days from August 11-17, 2025, averaging 759 flights per day and 31.6 per hour around the clock. Arrivals edged out departures, 2,689 to 2,627, with 729 unique aircraft observed. Tuesday the 12th was the busiest single day at 803 movements. Traffic ran from 00:00 to 23:59 local time, though the overnight trough between 02:00 and 04:00 dipped as low as 37 total movements in the 03:00 hour. The 07:00 hour was the busiest of the week at 307 movements, driven heavily by arrivals (191 versus 116 departures). A second arrival surge appeared in the 05:00 and 06:00 hours, when inbound flights outnumbered departures roughly five to one. Departure pressure shifted to later in the day, with the 09:00 and 23:00 hours each logging over 200 outbound flights. The Porto Alegre corridor (POA) was the top route by a wide margin at 228 total movements, followed by Florianópolis (FLN) at 123 and Buenos Aires Aeroparque (AEP) at 122. Rio de Janeiro Galeão (GIG) showed a pronounced asymmetry with 72 arrivals against only 17 departures. Approaches came predominantly from the NNE (828 counted), with SW and WNW the next most common vectors. Departures spread more evenly, led by NE (551) and SW (411). Aircraft from Brazil made up the largest national group at 351, followed by US-registered (100) and Canadian-registered (79) airframes. The highest-altitude flight peaked at 48,525 feet, and the longest leg in the dataset was a 1,485.8 nautical mile arrival from Santiago (SCL) lasting 188 minutes.

Reviews from customers across our airport print collection.
Great gift to commemorate trip!
We ordered the LHR image (aurora/light) as a gift for our son who is in college and training to be a commercial airline pilot. We had taken a family trip to London and this was the perfect gift for him. He loved the image, and immediately scanned the included QR code to review the flight data that is available to support each map. The quality and delivery timing were exceptional. We will definitely order more!

Thank you for your review, Nathan! We wish your son the best on his journey to becoming a pilot.
São Paulo/Guarulhos–Governor André Franco Montoro International Airport opened on January 20, 1985, replacing the overcrowded Congonhas Airport as São Paulo's primary international gateway. Construction of the first phase (two runways and two terminals) began on August 11, 1980, after planning studies initiated by Brazil's military government in 1967. From the start, the airport grew fast. After several expansions of passenger capacity, GRU became the leading hub of South American aviation.
Located in Guarulhos, 25 kilometers northeast of downtown São Paulo, the airport is in Brazil's most economically productive state. It serves the largest city in the Southern Hemisphere and is the primary connection point between South America and the rest of the world. In 2024, GRU handled over 43 million passengers, placing it among the 50 busiest airports on earth. Direct flights reach more than 100 destinations across more than 30 countries. The airport is a hub for LATAM Brasil and GOL Linhas Aéreas and a focus city for Azul Brazilian Airlines, with major international carriers including Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, Emirates, American Airlines, United, and Delta operating scheduled services.
The airport has 3 terminals and 2 parallel runways: one 3,000 meters long, the other 3,700 meters. The longer runway was widened in 2015 to accommodate Code F aircraft, including the Airbus A380. Terminal 3, dedicated largely to international operations, opened in May 2014 ahead of the FIFA World Cup. In 2018, GRU became the first major South American hub to gain a direct rail link, via CPTM Line 13. The airport was named in honor of Governor André Franco Montoro in 2001 and rebranded as GRU Airport following privatization in 2012.
